Audit Preparation

DOT Audit Readiness

Don't wait for the DOT to knock on your door. Trucksafe conducts comprehensive mock DOT audits using the same methodology as FMCSA — identifying compliance gaps and developing corrective action plans before a real audit does.

Why Audit Readiness Matters

FMCSA conducts safety audits to evaluate motor carrier compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. These audits examine six key factors: general compliance, driver qualification, operational compliance, vehicle maintenance, hazardous materials (if applicable), and accident history.

The outcome of an audit directly determines your safety rating. Critical violations can result in an immediate downgrade to Conditional or Unsatisfactory — restricting your ability to operate and devastating your business relationships.

New Entrant Audits

New motor carriers must pass a safety audit within the first 18 months of operation. Failure can result in revocation of your operating authority.

Satisfactory

Adequate safety management systems in place

Conditional

Deficiencies requiring corrective action

Unsatisfactory

Serious deficiencies — may be placed out of service
